Aluminum Die Casting Process
- The steel mold (die) is cleaned and treated with a lubricant.
- The die is closed and clamped shut.
- Molten aluminum is fed into a shot chamber.
- A piston rapidly injects the molten metal into the die cavity under high pressure.
- The molten aluminum quickly cools and solidifies in the die.
- Pressure is maintained to ensure proper filling and reduce porosity.
- The die opens.
- Ejector pins push the solidified part out of the die.
- Excess material (flash) is removed.
- The part may undergo additional finishing processes like polishing or coating.
The die is cleaned and prepared for the next cycle.
